What is Expressive Arts Coaching?

“The creative is the place where no one else has been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuitiion . What you will discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.”

~ Alan Alda

Expressive Arts Coaching uses the creative process to help you become more aware of what it is you want and how you can get there.  Expressive Arts Coaching  uses the power of creative expression  to explore, inform and motivate you the client. When we create we are expanding our mind and going beyond the boundaries of old patterns of acting and thinking.

If we approach our life situations using art that stimulates our curiosity rather than our fears we open up to  a deeper space within us where we find the answers to who we are and what our purpose is.

As the famous psychoanalyst Carl Jung said:

“The greatest and most important problems of life are all in a certain sense insoluble…. They can never be solved, but only outgrown…. This ‘outgrowing’, as I formerly called it, on further experience was seen to consist in a new level of consciousness. Some higher or wider interest arose on the person’s horizon, and through this widening of view, the insoluble problem lost its urgency. It was not solved logically in its own terms, but faded out when confronted with a new and stronger life-tendency.”― C.G. Jung

There is usually something that is holding you back from achieving what you want. Sometimes that something is out of your awareness. The answers are usually found after your conscious mind loosens up and allows more information to flow. Becoming creative gives you an opportunity to listen to your intuitive self. You will be better equipped to look at your goal and realize what it is that will motivate you to persevere and achieve it. Creative exploration and self-discovery are the first steps toward real and lasting change.

Almost everyone benefits from this kind of coaching. If you want to:

  • achieve a goal,
  • discover your purpose,
  • improve a relationship,
  • navigate a transition,
  • get along with co-workers,
  • improve your creativity and innovative skills,

YOU start with an intention and then let it go by creating spontaneously and intuitively. Images, color and metaphors speak louder than words.

When you are starting a business, or are deep into running your business you sometimes lose momentum and motivation. You may need to take some time to review the personal why of your work.  Is what you are doing in alienment with who you are, Find out if you are still heading in the right direction for yourself and your work. Creating Intuitively brings up images and metaphors that speak to you from a place deeper within and can generate motivation and more insight on where and what you need to do next.

“The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave to it neither power nor time.”…“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
